This is an overview of the edges of New York where I plan to document.
This work was created during my 2017 Artist Residency at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. I was looking for the poetry in an industrial landscape. These images are reflective of where I want to go with The Edges project.
These images are part of a long-term portrait project at Jacob Riis Beach and the Hudson River. I plan on incorporating images and video of people I meet at the edges for my project.
Because of global warming our coastal areas are threatened by rising waters. These two images were taken in the exact same spot at Jacob Riis, before and after Hurricane Sandy. I want to document the edges of New York City because they will be changing and we don’t know what will be going away.
